Miami delayed
Arriving in Miami was not as easy as I pictured it to be. I was already hungry when the pilot announced that we had to stay in the air longer due to thunderstorms over the airport. The problem with cheap flights is that there is never enough food. If you sit in a plane for over 10 hours you should get more than just a little portion of pasta and a cake. At this time I didn't know that you can bring your own food to the plane. Huge improvement!
After landing we had to wait in line for the border control which took us also more than an hour. Also the guy working there forgot to stamp our passport which got us in trouble later on this journey. The next step to get to our couchsurfing host was a train which was also delayed. When we arrived at the right station our host who offered to pick us up was already gone. I was so frustrated, tired and hungry that I question my decision to make this journey on the very first day.
Thankfully our host Bram came back to pick us up and we grabbed food from a thai restaurant.
Then Bram should us the place we could stay for free. Usually you get offered a couch via couchsurfing but we got a full house to ourselves. Pool and hot tube included!
