Cleaning up Arizona

A really sad thing we noticed all over camping spots we have been to in America is that people always leave behind their trash. Mostly plastic waste and cans, so the stuff that will be around there forever.
The trash level reached a peak at our camping spot in Arizona. The free camping area would have been the perfect place to stay the night and have a campfire. Unfortunately all the plastic laying around there made it impossible to enjoy the nature.
The only thing to do in a situation like that: CLEAN UP.
Among the plastic wraps, beer cans, fast food packaging, we also found plastic bags which we used to collect the smaller pieces of waste. Just 10 minutes later we were done. We ended up with 4 full bags and a pile of bigger trash. The problem now was how to get the trash off the campsite. Thankfully karma worked its magic. The next morning a camp ranger drove by and stopped to asked us about the trash. After we have told him the story he ensured us to come back later with his truck to remove everything.

Please take your trash with you. Always. No excuses allowed. Wherever you are I ensure you a rubbish bin will come on your way. Further collecting trash others left behind only takes a few minutes, you will feel heroic afterwards and your karma gets boosted up!

We even found the sign

All around the fire place

Plastic everywhere
