The rain continued in Oregon. We joked around that the weather will change as soon as we reach 'Sunny California' and no joke the closer we got to San Francisco the sunnier and warmer it got.
Finally arriving in San Francisco we had a cloudless blue sky. We stopped by the Golden Gate Bridge where we spent almost two hours walking around and taking pictures of the beautiful red bridge. We also drove through the really cool city but we had to drive on to our housesit.
Housesitting in Monterey
Two hours later we met Janie (a real FBI agent!) and her super cute dogs Jack and Mario. Before leaving to Disney Land she took us out for Dinner to a quite fancy restaurant. We sitted here for a week ut we could have stayed waaaay longer. The house at the beach and the view from the living room and our bedroom is stunning. We could even spot dolphins from the windows. I especially enjoy walking at the beach with the dogs or just sitting there with my book and coffee. The sea is so calming and relaxing. Niklas used the time to cut his new YouTube video and I decided to start writing down everything we did and saw on this journey so far (aka I started this blog so I can re-read everything when I am older). We also plan our next stops: Las Vegas, Zion National Park and Mexico.
Yosemite National Park
Niklas' number one priority in America. Due to the height of the National Park the temperature is pretty low so we check in to a tiny hostel. In the late evening we sat together with the host and other guest. Niklas played the guitar and we others sang along. Guest who have been here for a few days gave us hiking tipps.
The next morning Niklas and me made pancakes and coffee for all guests and we even formed a group of five hikers to do a trail together. First we hiked to a view point for the Half Dome and than to the Taft Point where we got to see el Capitan. All together we hiked around four hours and we talked a lot while doing so.
Afterwards our group split up as the others where going back to the hostel and we were driving down into the Yosemite Valley to watch the sunset.
Again we had to sleep in a hotel because the temperature would sink below zero degrees that night.
